What is Shen?
Shen is the spirit or life force that resides in every living body. Our eyes and facial complexion are a mirror of our shen. Acupuncture practitioners work with this life force by tapping into the acupuncture meridians to even the flow of oxygen and Qi to optimize the body’s physiological function.
The result of an effective acupuncture treatment shows up in many ways and one great sign is when someone’s complexion changes to a bright red color. If your practitioner says after your treatment “Ohh, you have a bright shen!“ we would like you to know that is a positive compliment to you that your body responded well to the treatment.
